Manzini: Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, 3 December, 2025
The atmosphere was electric at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre as Parliament, in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council, commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDD) through a vibrant Disability-Inclusion and Wellness Day. The event, themed “Fostering Disability Inclusion for Socio-Economic Development in Eswatini,” unfolded with colour, excitement, and a powerful message of unity and empowerment. One of the major highlights was a thrilling lineup of football matches that kept spectators cheering. In a heartfelt and competitive opening match, Parliament went head-to-head with persons with disabilities and was defeated 1–0, demonstrating that ability reaches far beyond physical limitations. The Municipality also faced persons with disabilities and fell short with a 4–0 loss. In a spirited final match, Parliament secured a 4–2 victory over the Municipality. Beyond the games, the event reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to breaking barriers, uplifting voices, and bringing services closer to the people it serves. The Disability-Inclusion and Wellness Day stands as a powerful reminder that when communities unite in support and understanding, everyone benefits and everyone wins.
